Dave LeMieux and Tina LeMieux Balabanian come to the world of theater after successful careers in music and real estate respectively. They launched Barrelhouse Productions in 2025 to support Dorsey – The Musical.

Tina’s love of theater dates back to her first time seeing The Sound of Music at Boulder Dinner Theater as a wide eyed jet lagged five-year-old immigrant. Dave’s portrayal of Danny Zuko in a self-produced 4th grade neighborhood garage staging of Grease was the first of his many meaningful encounters with the theater arts as producer, performer, writer, and accompanist.

Dave is a proud member of the producing team behind At the Table with Dr. King, an internationally touring reader’s theater production which, as of 2026, is in its seventeenth year with 675 shows completed and counting.

Barrelhouse Productions brings Dave’s and Tina’s complimentary talents and collective passions together in support of stories that need telling on a live stage.

The LeMieuxs believe live theater matters because it gathers strangers into a single room and turns them into a temporary community. In that shared space, breath, laughter, silence, and even heartbeats begin to synchronize—a phenomenon scientists sometimes call collective heartbeats. As actors tell a story in real time, the audience doesn’t just watch; they feel together. Fear rises together, hope lifts together, and applause erupts together. In an age of screens and isolation, live theater reminds us that storytelling is not merely entertainment—it is a shared human experience that literally brings our hearts into rhythm with one another. 🎭
